VINS presents Art on a Rain Barrel
From: Thursday, February 04, 2010
To: Wednesday, March 31, 2010

Teams of creative, eco-conscious youth, adults and families are challenged to submit illustrations that raise awareness of the present or historical beauty, ecological, economic, and/or social importance of fresh water in Vermont or New Hampshire - from drinking water to wildlife, and everything in between.

The top teams from throughout the region will be invited to VINS Nature Center in Quechee, VT to celebrate Vermont Clean Water Day on May 15, 2010. At this Art on a Rain Barrel Festival, each team will receive a free rain barrel on which to paint their designs- courtesy of Upcycle Products (www.upcycle-products.com). Top designs will receive special prizes and will be put on display at the VINS Nature Center for tens of thousands to see! Both the contest and festival are free and open to everyone. Professional artists are invited to paint and donate their rain barrel artwork as a fundraiser for VINS.

Entries must be 11” x 17” and postmarked by March 31, 2010. Find more details about the Art on a Rain Barrel contest and download the official application at www.vinsweb.org/art-on-a-rain-barrel.html. Question should be directed to 802-359-5000 x228 or artonarainbarrel@vinsweb.org.
